The legacy that Rev. Charles Earnest Fry left his descendants. was an outline of as much of his ancestry that he knew of. Both of his parents came from very large families, the outline is as follows expanded on by original research. My planned usage of this work is for certification as a Genealogist and use is limited to personal use. Copyright Jan. 20, 2001 B. J. Kinzie |

Indications are that these siblings were the descendants of Timothy Woodin but doing additional research would be required to establish any link. A Michael Fry-Frey family lived in Halfmoon and Clifton Park but more research is needed to see if any relationship exist between our Michaels. |

One of the Michaels is said to have had a sister Lydia. Little Michael married Lucy Woodin. They lived in Half Moon, Saratoga Co., NY. As Michael was lo longer living with his family in 1850, his age is hard to guess. Lucy was born circa 1806 and died after 1885. It is believed she was born in Saratoga Co., NY and was living in Sandlake, NY in 1885. Charles said that the Frys were Free men and Low Dutch was spoken in their home. |

The Blood Family |
| | |
| | |
In his outline for the Baker branch, Charles wrote that "Grandfather Blood" had had two wives and that the siblings of Electa Blood were Hervey Blood a Baptist minister, Friend Blood a preacher, Axy Blood Sandborn and Betsey Blood Palmer with indications Mr. Palmer was Joseph and daughters Jane Manger-Vein, Eliza, Betsey and Martha Cole. |

Wrote about the two brothers but not the sisters. The next entry I found is as follows |
| | |
| | |
"B122- Asa b. Sept. 28, 1763 lived Vermont and New York, buried in Cold Brook Cem., Spafford, Onondaga Co., NY. Revolutionary soldier and pensioner. Father of two minister, Friend and Hervey. m. 1- Martha (Patty) 2- Lucy Hemmenway in Groten Mass. May 22, 1792. b. abt. 1768 alive in 1820." |
| | |
| | |
As I lived in Onondaga County at the time I was doing this family, we visited Spafford, checked records, and found what might be the source of the confusion. In Beauchamps History for the Onondaga Historical Society,Town of Spafford, 1913, pg 234, Beauchamps thought the Asa Blood in 1840 Preble, Cortland County was buried in Cold Brook Cemetery. |
| | |
| | |
When the Sacandaga Reservoir a cemetery named Cold Brook near Edenburg in Saratoga was destroyed and attempts were made to relocate all human remains. This cemetery is much nearer where the three of the family were known to have lived. (Still a thought Feb. 6th) |
| | |

Asa Blood's Revolutionary War pension is S.44,632 states that Asa served for three years under Capt. Isaac Frey in Henry Dearborn's Reg. for the New Hampshire line. In 1818 he was 57 and suffering from arthritis so was unable to earn his living as a carpenter, wife Lucy was 52 and in ill health, and he had 4 dependent children, Friend age 16 and feeble, Ashiah age 12 and Electa and Betsey both born Dec. 1, 1810. The pension was granted and it was transferred between the Vermont Rolls to the New Hampshire and then to New York |
| | |
| | |
Revisions Feb. 6th. Came to New York 1825; pension active 1840. |

Electa married William Baker and their family was for me fairly easy to identify in Northampton, Fulton Co., NY. Living near by were who I believe were Betsey Blood Palmer and the description of her family but Palmer is common enough that I am not going to crawl out on that limb. A Rev. Harvey Blood lived in Orleans Co., NY and for certain identification I have none. (Confirmed by J. Sencer Feb. 5th) |

The Baker family of Cranberry Creek, NY |
| | |
| | |
First known generation |
| | |
| | |
We were given two outlines for the Baker family and have been in touch with the descendants of Van Baker. Charles Fry's was between 1900 and 1937, Clark Mills gave an outline to Charles' daughter around 1946 which gave what he knew of his cousins. |
| | |
| | |
William Baker was thought to have the following siblings per Charles, Richard, who had a son Daniel, Gilbert, Osborn, and a sister Lauria. William was born in New York State around 1804 and was found in censuses between 1850 and 1870. He married Electa Blood (1 Dec. 1810 Vermont - after 1870). On the Mills list was a note that "Grandpa Baker was married three times". In Vosburg, Vol. 1, between pages 88 and 119, Broadalbin Baptist Church 1792-1853, 1836 11-6 Wm. Baker from 2nd Galway Ch., dism 4--1839 |

Electa Baker from 2nd Galway Ch., dism 4--1839 |
| | |
| | |

Just when he or a preceding generation married three times is unclear, perhaps early in life or after 1870. Electa's and William's children were, Van Ranseler "Ranse" , Malinda (given name Balinda) , Elizabeth "Betsey" , James , William, Sarah, Richard, Lucy, Delia, Thomas, Frances and an infant. |

Second known generation |
| | |
| | |
1 Van Ranseler "Ranse" Baker 1828-1862 married Susan Galusha, remaining information withheld as joint collaboration with cousin Bev. |
| | |
| | |
2 Malinda Baker (25 Nov. 1830, Woodshollow, Fulton Co., NY- 10 Sept. 1910 Dundee, NY) given name Balinda which she disliked. She was teased over her appearance of black hair and high cheekbones. A persistent family tale is that the Bakers might have Native American ancestors. Married George C. Fry 20 Oct. 1850. See Fry genealogy for family. |
